The warranty benefits will be voided if any of the following occur:
- Concrete surrounds are pinned to the existing pool structure or if there is a failure to properly install expansion joints (either horizontally or vertically) in the surrounds.
- The pool’s chemical levels are not monitored and logged weekly by a professional.
- There are any load-bearing structures, excavations, or penetrations within the area of influence of the existing pool structure or surrounding pipework.
- The pool filter cartridge is not cleaned and the skimmer basket is not emptied weekly (or sooner, if necessary).
- The water level is not maintained 50mm below the underside of the coping.
- Stagnant water, rubble, metal debris, leaf tannin, and other materials are not removed from the pool shell during construction.
- · Inappropriate external drainage causes water to pool around the pool structure.
- External water pressure during the pool’s filling process causes the hydrostatic valve to release.
- Poor hydraulic water management and lack of proper drainage result in surface water running directly into the pool.
- · Pool lights are directly connected to power without using the correct transformer.
- The pool and any conductive material with 2 m around the pool are not properly earthed.
- The owner commissions their own pool equipment before the builder has officially handed it over.
- · The pool equipment is not covered by a compliant enclosure.
- If the owner installs their own coping, it does not meet industry standards, leading to issues like coping lifting or hairline cracks due to incorrect glues and expansion practices.
- External materials like timber, stacked stone, or debris that leach into the pool result in surface staining of the pool finishes.
- Service lines, gas or power connections are faulty, undersized, or lack proper ventilation, leading to poor performance or failure of equipment and heaters.
- Turning off the hose during the pool’s initial filling causes a watermark.
